FAVINI Srl
About us
Favini is a leading global producer of graphic specialties, natural fibre-based (cellulose, algae, fruits, nuts, leather, textile etc.) for packaging solutions for the luxury and fashion industries.
Upcycling is at the heart of Favini’s philosophy: Favini has in its DNA the principles of the circular economy and creative reuse. It is these two important aspects which from an environmental perspective, has led the company over the years to seek out alternative solutions using by-products as the precious raw material in the production of low impact and ecological quality papers, such as Alga Carta, Crush, Remake and most recently Refit as well as renewable annual crops such as Tree Free that uses 25% cotton linters and 75% bamboo.

The seaweed particles are visible on the surface to give a unique natural look. We produce Alga Carta with energy from renewable sources and offset unavoidable emissions. Alga Carta is FSC™FSC™ C001810 certified, recyclable and biodegradable!

CRUSH COCONUT
After cultivation and harvesting, coconut is used for food, the cosmetic industry and within other industrial sectors. The coir that cannot be used for these areas is used as a mulch and it is with the residues from this process, that Favini intervenes! This material is recovered, micronized and added to the paper, replacing valued virgin cellulose. It gives a unique texture and tactile feel to the paper whilst helping the planet. In addition to using the coir, we are also able to recover the shell! In fact, the very dark, almost black colour of the paper is created specifically by the shell. It undergoes an emission-free combustion process that produces organic charcoal by sequestrating CO2 from the atmosphere. The charcoal is added into the paper, making its shade.
