About us

OPRL is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping consumers recycle more effectively. We work closely with brands and retailers and those throughout the packaging supply chain, offering expert guidance on packaging recyclability and helping them label packaging correctly. Our goal is to empower consumers to make informed recycling decisions at the point of disposal.

Recent independent research (April 2025) shows that labelling remains the primary way consumers know what they can recycle, and 2/3 say they'd rather buy from brands that use clear recycling labels.
