Maintenance Engineer

Focused on recyclable and compostable products, we design and manufacture award-winning sustainable food packaging solutions exported worldwide. We are seeking an Engineer to maintain, repair and install factory machinery and equipment. The role includes diagnostics, preventive maintenance, basic electrical fault finding, supporting major repairs, and helping implement maintenance programmes. You will also assist with purchasing parts and services, coordinate external contractors, contribute to investment projects, and support Health & Safety initiatives.

The successful candidate will have proven maintenance engineering experience, a qualification in engineering or manufacturing, and strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanics. You should be comfortable using power and hand tools, possess strong organisational and problem-solving skills, and be a proactive team player. Good written and spoken English is essential.

We are looking for an Engineer to join our team at our Flitwick site. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing factory machinery and equipment, ensuring optimum performance and reliability. Duties include diagnostics, preventive maintenance, basic electrical fault finding and repairs, and supporting major repair projects alongside the Senior Works Engineer.

You will help develop and implement planned maintenance programmes, reduce equipment downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves purchasing parts and services within budget, monitoring stock levels, coordinating external contractors for specialist work, contributing to capital investment projects, and supporting Health & Safety activities across the site.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a maintenance engineering role and a qualification in engineering or manufacturing. Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanics is essential, as well as experience using power and hand tools. Basic electrical troubleshooting skills would be an advantage.

We are seeking a proactive and organised individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a positive, flexible approach to work. You should be able to work independently as well as part of a team, be willing to work occasional overtime when required, and communicate confidently in both written and spoken English.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) based at our Flitwick site.
