Mark Browne leads the PZ Cussons Packaging Team for the European business unit. In post for 3 years, having joined after a stint of 10 years at one of the UK’s leading personal care contract manufacturers. Based at PZ Cussons Manchester, he splits his time between Head Office and the Factory. Working on some of the UK’s best loved and leading brands in the Washing & Bathing space including household names such as Carex, Original Source, Imperial Leather and the Cusson’s own brand.
Mark is an experienced packaging development professional with a proven track record of driving innovation and sustainability within the FMCG sector. As European Packaging Lead, Mark spearheads projects that balance functionality, cost-efficiency, and environmental responsibility, ensuring packaging solutions meet both consumer expectations and regulatory requirements.
With extensive expertise in material optimisation, design for recyclability, and compliance with evolving legislation such as EPR and PPWR, Mark plays a pivotal role in shaping packaging strategies that align with corporate sustainability goals. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—including marketing, supply chain, and external partners—Mark delivers solutions that enhance product appeal while seeking to reduce environmental impact.
Mark’s leadership is characterised by a commitment to continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement. Recent initiatives include leading the EPR programme for PZ Cussons, contributing to industry discussions on circular economy practices such as Reuse at Scale, Material Reduction & Smart Connected Packaging Technology. Passionate about Innovation, Mark leverages insights from market trends and technical developments to future-proof packaging portfolios as we move into the digital age of packaging and increasing regulatory pressures.
