LVMH chooses limestone-based material for Ole Henriksen’s new CC Stick
LVMH has taken a step towards eco-friendly beauty packaging by selecting a component partially derived from limestone for the release of Olehenriksen’s Banana Bright+ Vitamin CC Stick.
The primary packaging material of the Banana Bright+ Vitamin CC Stick is composed of Limex pellets, a sustainable material that contains over 50% inorganic material such as calcium carbonate. TBM, the Japanese supplier responsible for developing and distributing Limex, promotes it as a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional petroleum-based ABS and PP resins used in cosmetic packaging.
Limex can aid in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in comparison to conventional plastics and can be recycled. They also claim that the injection molding grade of Limex can be utilized to produce a broad range of cosmetic containers, including jars and lipsticks, without requiring additional machinery, using the existing plastic molding equipment.
