Graham’s Port unveils an exclusive Bicentenary Collection featuring exceptionally rare ports
Graham’s Port, the esteemed port house, introduces a remarkable assortment of globally acclaimed ports showcased within a bespoke furniture piece.
A truly limited offering, only 30 editions were created for the highly sought-after Bicentenary Collection. Recently, two of these exclusive cabinets were auctioned to generate funds for a charitable cause.
Cabinet number two was successfully auctioned off for an impressive sum of $575,000 at the prestigious Naples Winter Wine Festival held in Florida, USA. In addition to acquiring the cabinet, the winning bidder also secured a captivating six-night expedition through Porto and the Douro Valley, graciously hosted by the Symington family. As an added bonus, a memorable vacation to the idyllic island of Madeira was included in the package. The remarkable proceeds from this auction will be donated to support the Naples Children & Education Foundation (NCEF).
The remarkable Bicentenary Collection boasts a carefully curated selection of twelve exceptional ports. This includes six exquisite Single Harvest Tawny Ports and six timeless Vintage Ports. Notably, the Vintage Ports encompass remarkable vintages like 1963, 1994, and 2011, which are considered among the most remarkable declarations of the past two centuries.
All the Vintage Ports in this extraordinary collection have undergone meticulous ageing in the renowned Graham’s cellars located in Vila Nova de Gaia. Additionally, the Single Harvest Tawny Ports have been thoughtfully chosen and bottled exclusively for this collection, with two previously unreleased treasures from 2000 and 2006.
Of special significance, the 1982 Single Harvest Tawny was originally bottled to commemorate the birth of HRH Prince George of Cambridge, while the 2000 Single Harvest Tawny holds the distinction of being the first port crafted using the Symington family’s modern treading lagares method.
