Braille Embossed Cartons

Innovation at Falconer Print and Packaging features integrated Braille application, verification and detection at final gluing operation. Every Braille dot is inspected for relative position and quality, along with registration and alignment of the entire text, giving complete assurance that the Braille is both correct and readable. To complement and supplement its Braille gluing line, Falconer have also added a Dot Scanner into its finishing operating procedures. The recent investment gives full confidence that braille heights conform to the new CEN and BS standards. It reads, measures and verifies braille dots, providing an automated readout for full recorded conformance to meet customer's legislative needs. Truefitt & Hill were looking for a premium carton to compliment their luxury range of fragrances, in keeping with their brand. By using a high level emboss and deboss Falconer were able to add texture and real depth to the carton. The carton now catches your eye on shelf and has a premium, tactile feel. The brief was to create maximum standout on shelf and to take the form of a kennel. Tough brief to say the least, when you have 2 slanted bottles and a unique shaped glass. Our Cad designers, as always came up trumps with a stunning carton. Not only is the pack easy to assemble, and strong enough to house the products, it also hit the brief perfectly. The Slingsby iconic brand needed fine embossing detail adding to their new 5cl gift set. Results surpassed the brief giving fantastic detail and creating a canvas effect bringing it inline with the 70cl rigid boxes. "The Little Book of Inspiration" returns to the exhibition. There are numerous pages of innovative concepts and new additions all continuing to break the boundaries of traditional carton designs, launched at the NEC last year. Intricate Overprintable Foil.

High end limited edition whisky required over-printable foil to enable the brand owner to achieve the layers of colour on top of foil and keep the ornate foil as a stand alone effect. The results speak for themselves, the contrast between the virgin board/foil on board and print on foil create a real contrast. visit stand C44!!

Gin limited edition keepsake display

The CAD team created the fan concept using the sleeve to hold the pack together. Multi-height embosses and debosses were applied to the metalised board to give lots of the tactile areas. Every minor detail was picked out from the ribs in the straw hat to the points of the pineapple. The end result is stunning and goes to show what you can achieve when you push boundaries of embellishments

Premium uncoated stylish cosmetic cartons

A premium luxury and stylish carton with tactile feel was achieved, using uncoated board, complemented by a blind high level emboss. Colour matching was key so the ultra white uncoated board was indicative in attaining the result.

Falconer Christmas Gift Set

A truly innovative gift set produced by Falconer for their customers. We chose the theme of the fairy ballet, The Nutcracker - a theatrical story, presented in a theatrical gift box created as a book. On opening the box, the inside front cover contains a wonderful and fun diorama, lit up with lights, which begins the story of The Nutcracker. On the opposite side, authentic looking pages narrate the magical plot, before the reader arrives at the back page where four ‘Falconer’ inspired cocktail recipes can be found, alongside a range of ingredients, each packaged in individual compartments. These included: Slingsby Marmalade Gin, tonics, dried botanicals, a handmade Christmas candle and handmade chocolates. All the packaging material used to create the pack is FSC and fully recyclable. The outer book is produced on board with a cream reverse to lesson the raw edges. The intricate foil embellishment creates an old school book appearance, which combined with traditional green shades on the cover, are designed to give a 3-dimensional look and draw your eye to the foil. Inside and behind curtains, the 3D diorama gives the sense of excitement and imagination. The diorama was a fun, but challenging part, as all the elements needed to align perfectly to give depth and hide the mechanics of the design. This element, along with the lights, were carefully put together and glued by hand. The diorama has a novel secondary function in that it can be taken out of the outer book and used either as a Christmas card that lights up, or as a festive decoration. The pages, produced to look like an aged hard back book, are printed on the uncoated side of cream backed board, with matte gold borders to frame each page. The gifts at the back of the book are individually packaged in textured stunning iridescent solid gold board to complement the foil detail throughout. In creation, each material had been carefully considered throughout, from weight to texture and colour.

Falconer’s Victorian Christmas House A timeless gift that blends nostalgia and innovation

The beautifully designed packaging features a Victorian house with a cosy living room scene, including a roaring fire, twinkling decorations and a charming hand-drawn illustration of snoozing cats and a sneaky little mouse. The nostalgic setting conjures up memories of time spent with loved ones, perfectly encapsulating the spirit of Christmas. Crafting the magic To bring this design to life, Falconer utilised their trusted Holmens Incada Excel board. Known for its aged, uncoated feel, this premium material not only delivers stunning ink conversion but also pairs seamlessly with foil embellishments. Gold and silver foils were carefully applied to accentuate the bulbs and baubles, adding a festive sparkle. Custom metallic colours were created through innovative overprinting techniques, giving the design a glow that dances in the light. The Christmas gifts were more than just visually captivating - they were thoughtfully curated to delight the senses. Recipients were treated to a range of wonderful local delights. Innovative festive touches Falconer has a legacy of pushing the boundaries of conceptual carton design, and the 2024 creation was no exception. Drawing on past successes - such as the fairy lights of The Nutcracker (2022) and the light-reactive sound of The Carousel (2023) - the more recent gift introduces a working analogue clock embedded above the fireplace. This intricate detail not only adds a sense of movement but also serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of cherishing Christmas ‘time’.
