Meet the Speakers 2023 | Five minutes with: Victoria Brownlie, Chief Policy Officer at British Beauty Council

London Packaging Week recently had the pleasure of interviewing Victoria Browline, Chief Policy Officer at British Beauty Council. Victoria has more than fifteen years of experience influencing government policy and lobbying on issues from animal welfare to local government, the construction sector and business. Read the interview to find out more about Victoria, what she enjoys about her role and more!

Tell us a bit about yourself! What do you enjoy the most about your role?

I’m a self-confessed geek that gets to combine two things I love – beauty and politics! What I enjoy the most about my role is arguing with people and challenging misconceptions – both about the beauty industry but also why politics is relevant to everyone, even those who ‘don’t do politics’!

What are the hot topics you’d like to hear about at London Packaging Week 2023?

I want to see and hear about all the new innovations around sustainable and planet positive packaging!

What or who inspires you?

Those who are prepared to go against the status quo, challenge and ask why? Why is it ‘always done that way?’ Why does it ‘have to be done like that?’ What would happen if…? Disruptors, problem solvers – future thinkers!

What is your pet peeve as a consumer?

Wanting to ‘do better’ environmentally but being constrained by what’s readily on offer or forced to actively seek it out rather than it just being ‘as standard’.

Victoria will be joining us along with Oriele Frank at London Packaging Week next month! Make sure to join them at the Beauty & Drinks stage on Day 2 from 11:45 to 12:15 to hear their talk: The Future of Packaging through an Environmental lens.
