Redefining Sustainable Solutions: Empowering a Greener Future in Packaging Practices.
Mondi has proudly announced the certification of its kraft paper packaging range as home or industrially compostable. While the company remains constant in its focus on recyclability to preserve fiber circulation, it acknowledges composting as a viable end-of-life solution for specific applications, especially those disposed of in the biowaste stream.
Silvia Hanzelova, Mondi’s Sales Director at Specialty Kraft Paper, highlighted the significance of these certifications, underlining the ongoing commitment to provide customers with sustainable packaging solutions. She expressed that such certifications offer assurance to industrial, commercial, and manufacturing clients, affirming Mondi’s dedication to facilitating a more sustainable future while delivering robust and tailored packaging solutions to meet individual needs.
Mondi’s kraft papers, derived from renewable and certified sources, aim to assist customers in reaching their environmental sustainability objectives. The diverse product range encompasses industrial packaging, retail shopping bags, and food packaging for supermarket shelves. For instance, Advantage MF EcoComp is a prime example of Mondi’s compostable kraft paper, tailored for household and agricultural purposes, particularly for paper bags managing wet organic household waste.
Another notable product, Mondi’s EcoVantage kraft paper, utilizes a blend of fresh and recycled fibers, presenting an environmentally sustainable option for food-compliant shopping packaging.
This certification echoes Mondi’s Action Plan 2030 environmental commitment, aiming to render 100% of its packaging and paper products reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2025. It symbolizes a pivotal step in the company’s quest for more sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging solutions, aligning with evolving global sustainability goals.
