Enhancing Efficiency and Precision in Fresh-Cut Produce Operations
Ishida weighing technology has been instrumental in facilitating the expansion and development of Voie Verte, a French fresh produce specialist, as it meets the rising demand for fresh cut fruits and fruit salads. Established in 1972, Voie Verte ventured into fresh-cut operations in 2012, leading to the inauguration of a new 5,100m2 plant in Les Echets in 2017, equipped with a dedicated area for fresh-cut products.
The installation of three Ishida Fresh Food Weighers (FFW) has significantly boosted production capacity at the new facility. These weighers are specifically designed to handle delicate and bruise-sensitive fresh produce efficiently and accurately. The ergonomic design of the FFW, coupled with features like scraper hopper gates and ribbed surfaces, ensures precise weighing while minimizing product sticking.
Voie Verte has witnessed several advantages since implementing the Ishida weighers. Notably, they have increased efficiency by delivering precise weighing with minimal giveaway, reducing the need for additional operators during the packaging process. The weighers also facilitate quick recipe changes and easy cleaning, enhancing flexibility and productivity.
Jose Carrion, Voie Verte’s Industrial Director, emphasizes the importance of partnering with Ishida, highlighting their technology’s accuracy and reliability in supporting the company’s growth and adaptation to market demands since its inception in 1972.
