Lidl Pioneers Supermarket Sales on TikTok Shop
- 19 February 2025
Lidl has become the first supermarket to sell directly through TikTok Shop, launching 3,000 exclusive high-protein product bundles on the platform starting at 9am on 20 February.
Priced at £5 each, these bundles are valued at £30, with all proceeds benefiting the NSPCC. Available exclusively on the @LidlGB TikTok account, the bundles feature items such as IronMaxx 100% Whey Protein, Snacktastic High Protein Pop Chips, Belbake Protein Pancake Mix, Crownfield High Protein Flapjacks, and Maribel High Protein Peanut Butter. Each bundle also includes limited-edition Lidl merchandise, like a branded microfibre towel and a resistance band set. This initiative marks Lidl’s debut on TikTok Shop, joining other brands that have utilised the platform to engage with consumers. Additionally, Lidl Plus loyalty scheme members can access a 25% discount on chilled high-protein products in-store through Lidl Plus coupons.
Research indicates that over a third of TikTok’s 1.69 billion users make purchases via the platform, with more than half seeking shopping inspiration there.
As the world of retail and packaging continues to evolve, innovations like these are set to be highlighted at London Packaging Week, where industry leaders will explore how digital platforms and packaging innovations are shaping the future of commerce.
