Breakout Beauty UK: Accelerating the next generation of British beauty brands

The UK beauty industry is entering a new era of innovation, and packaging professionals should take note of this shift. Growth Studio has launched Breakout Beauty UK, a six-week accelerator programme designed to identify and elevate the most promising beauty founders in the country. With support from Boots, TikTok Shop, the British Beauty Council, and Venrex, the initiative offers a rare opportunity for emerging brands to scale rapidly and gain national visibility.

Breakout Beauty UK is not just about product development, but building brands that are retail-ready, investment-attractive, and culturally resonant. Packaging plays a critical role in this transformation, serving as both a strategic tool and a creative asset. As these founders prepare to enter major retail channels, their packaging must meet ambitious standards for sustainability, shelf appeal, and consumer engagement.

Strategic Partnerships and Industry Support

The programme has attracted headline partnerships from Boots and TikTok Shop, with additional backing from the British Beauty Council and venture capital firm Venrex. Industry leaders, including Trinny Woodall (Trinny London) and Mitchell Halliday (Made by Mitchell), are supporting the initiative, offering mentorship, and sharing their experiences in building successful British beauty brands.

Over six weeks, ten selected founders will receive expert guidance in retail strategy, investment readiness, and brand development. The programme culminates in a final pitch event, where two winners will be awarded a prize package valued at over £350,000. This includes a 12-month listing in Boots’ top stores and on boots.com, access to TikTok Shop’s promotional tools, and tailored business support.

Eligibility and Application

Breakout Beauty UK is open to founder-led UK beauty brands across categories, including skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance, and accessories. Breakout Beauty UK is seeking:

  • Founder-led UK beauty brands (skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance)
  • Minimum projected turnover of £150,000.
  • Ambition to scale into national retail within 12 months.
  • Brands selling DTC, via TikTok Shop, Amazon, or boutique retail.

Sustainable beauty brands are especially encouraged to apply.
